How to Check Parking Brake Air Gap (service mode) on Porsche 981 models using Autologic’s DrivePRO

In this video and article, the procedure for checking Parking Brake Air Gap (service mode) on Porsche 981 models using Autologic's DrivePRO is shown. 

The function is used to check the distance of the parking brake friction material gap to the braking surface. if the air gap is too high, the parking brake will not function correctly.

Begin by identifying the vehicle you are working on

Be sure the vehicle being checked is connected to a vehicle power supply designed for Porsche vehicles

Read instructions and confirm vehicle state

Select OK

Select Chassis

Select Parking Brake

Select Check Basic Settings of Parking Brake

Secure vehicle to prevent from rolling. Block all four wheels with wheel chocks

Select Start

Parking brake will be moved into service position for air gap check

Confirmation message of measurement will appear

If air gap is in range, Select Ok to exit

If air gap is out of range, message will be displayed

Select OK

Confirm message

Select OK

Adjust or repair parking brake as needed

Select back to exit
